In a plea posted on his Instagram page on March 11, Rexxie denounced his arrest as unjust and called for his prompt release.
The news sparked a flurry of reactions among online users.
While some individuals queried whether Rexxie was in possession of contraband substances, others suggested enlisting the support of popular Afrobeats icon Ayo Balogun, widely recognized as Wizkid, to intervene on his behalf.
Some social media users have reacted to the singer’s arrest.
