Family Reveals Aduke Gold Died Of Cervical Cancer, Not Surgery

Obasempire reports that the family of the late Nigerian gospel artist, Aduke Ajayi, widely known as Aduke Gold, has finally addressed the cause of her death.

Naija News reports that this announcement follows a viral video of Aduke Gold circulating online, which led many to speculate that she had undergone fibroid surgery that might have caused her demise.

The singer’s sudden death sparked varied reactions on social media as fans and industry colleagues continue to mourn.

In response to the controversies surrounding her untimely death, her brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, stated in a video circulating online that Aduke Gold passed away at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, on Monday, August 12, 2024.

He confirmed that the music star succumbed to cervical cancer and urged those spreading unverified claims to cease.

He said, “Whoever is saying what is not should stop it, our daughter was ill, she had cervical cancer, she was taken to UCH in Ibadan and unfortunately, she died. The information spreading around is false.

“Whoever is saying she died of fibroid surgery should stop it. Our daughter was ill, to the glory of God, she rested on Monday, 12th of August.  It is always ideal that you get information from the right source.”

Gospel Singer Aduke Gold Passes Away; Cause Of Death Unknown

Obasempire reports that Aduke Ajayi, the Nigerian gospel artist known as Aduke Gold, has died.

Esther Igbekele, another gospel singer, announced her passing through an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Sharing a photo of the late artist, Igbekele wrote in the caption: “RIP Aduke Gold, a general has fallen.”

Aduke Gold reportedly passed away on Monday at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.

At the time of this report, the cause of her death is not yet known. Aduke’s family has not released an official statement about her passing.

Fans and celebrities have flooded the comments on Igbekele’s post to pay tribute to the singer, renowned for her remarkable live performances.

Aduke Gold began her music career in the mid-2000s but gained significant recognition after the release of ‘Nitori Ogo’ — meaning “Because of Glory” — in 2021.

The track, from the album of the same name, garnered substantial streams and popularity, particularly on social media.

She studied History and International Studies at Lagos State University (LASU) and earned a degree in Child Psychology and a diploma in Montessori Education from the United Kingdom.

Aduke Gold worked with children with special needs, including autism, dyslexia, and cerebral palsy.

She struggled with vertigo, which caused frequent fainting spells and was a persistent challenge during her music career.

Her death follows the recent passing of Morenikeji Egbin Orun, another gospel artist.
